Giorgi Gakharia Calls at Least 10,000 PCR tests a day

In order to boldly open the economy in the country, the Prime Minister of Georgia names the rapid detection and treatment of cases of infection as an inevitable condition.

Giorgi Gakharia stated during the meeting with the ambassadors accredited in Georgia that the task of the state is to create a whole network and system of high-quality testing in Georgia.

"If, for example, Lugar's lab did 100-150 PCR tests a day in the first days of the epidemic, today it can do 4500 PCR tests. Our task is to be able to do 10,000 PCR tests in a day in Georgia by the end of the year. This is a necessary condition that allows us to open the economy more boldly, "- said Giorgi Gakharia.

According to the Prime Minister, with the help of international partners, donor organizations, the state will make serious investments to strengthen the hospital system in the near future.
