"First Goal Achieved - Head of Energy Agreed on Holding Parliamentary Hearing" - AYFB
A non-governmental organization - Association of Young Financiers and Businessman welcomes a positive response by the General Director of Energy Exchange, Irina Milorava, on a parliamentary hearing in order to determine the reasons for the postponement of opening Energy Exchange.
"We want to announce, that we are waiting for the parliamentary hearing to hold in order to find out the reasons for the inability to start the energy exchange reform within the set timeframe. We think, that our first goal is achieved. Ms. Irina Milorava agreed on holding a parliamentary hearing. This fact gives us hope, that there will be a discussion in the oversight format of the legislature about the reasons for delaying such an important reform.
We hope, that the Energy Exchange, as well as its founder state companies, ESCO, and GSE will appeal to the Chairmen of the Parliament officially with a request to hold a hearing to discuss the reasons for the delay.
AYFB thinks, that currently, the energy sector is the main sector of the country's economy. Therefore, the activities of the organization involve monitoring the ongoing processes in the energy sector.
We believe, that if there is no proper and rapid development in energy, there will be no development in the economy, which will create risks to the democratization and developmental process of our state.
It is a fact, that the Ministry of Economy has a well-defined energy development policy, when it supports the opening of the energy market, its liberalization, and therefore, harmonization and rapprochement with relevant EU policies and structures
AYFB thinks, that a well-defined policy needs to implement necessary and mandatory reforms, without time delays, in order to minimize corruption risks. Most importantly, this process must be underway through sincere and quality communication with the public.
In this case, in the management of reforms and initiatives, the questions that occur must be answered. In case of unsatisfactory answers, managers must assume their share of responsibility through specific administrative actions.
AYFB believes, that it will be possible to implement any reform correctly and quickly, including the most important one in the energy sector, only while working in this format.", is written in the announcement of AYFB.
