Toronto International Film Festival announced award winning films for 2020. Among them is Dea Kulumbegashvili's film, Beginning, which won FIPRESCI Prize.

The Toronto International Film Festival International Critics' Prizes, currently known as the FIPRESCI Prizes, are film awards presented by the International Federation of Film Critics (FIPRESCI) to films screening at the Toronto International Film Festival.

This is a prize from the international film critics group. The jury this year consisted of Jon Asp from Sweden, Jihane Bougrine from Morocco and Adriana Fernández from Mexico.

The jury of Toronto Film Festival selected Beginning, directed by Dea Kulumbegashvili, describing it as "a brave and fresh quiet storm of a film, and "the emotionally compelling debut feature by a filmmaker whose voice feels established and one to watch.”
