6 Changes Concerning Municipal Transport in the Capital

Viktor Tsilosani, Head of the Transport and Urban Development Agency of Tbilisi City Hall, publishes a post on his Facebook page, which deals with issues related to municipal transport in the city:

"Implementation of the new network starts tomorrow, which means that:

1. There will be one in ten corridors in the city, which will move only in the allotted lane, and ensure fast and comfortable movement of citizens.

2. Completely new, local lines will be put into operation, on which new 8, 10 and 12 meter buses will run.

3. Lines of local importance will be added to this corridor, on which completely new minibuses will run.

4. Cash payment will be canceled on the mentioned routes and payment will be made only by a transport card.

5. It is forbidden for a passenger to stand on minibuses, which will be strictly controlled.

6.The business model will change, drivers' salaries will be fixed, which will prevent "passenger hunting ", and ensure a calm, safe and comfortable movement," Tsilosani wrote on his Facebook page.
