40,000 PCR Tests and 20,000 Antibody Tests Arrived in Georgia
This morning, a special flight from Beijing arrived at Tbilisi International Airport, bringing 52 tons of cargo with the initiative of the Ministry of Health.
Among them: 40,000 PCR tests and as many extraction kits, a large number of personal protective equipment, overalls, gloves, coats and other medical items. The information is spread by the Ministry of Health.
The same flight was loaded with an additional 20,000 antibody tests delivered by the Chinese government to Georgia free of charge. The Georgian Embassy in China took an active part in the talks.
The Minister of Health Ekaterine Tikaradze was at the airport during the cargo arrival.
"This is a very important fact. Boeing, the largest cargo plane that has brought 52 tons of cargo to Georgia, has landed, and the largest part of this cargo is the 40 000 PCR test, which we have been waiting for a long time.
It is also important that 20,000 antibody tests donated by the People's Republic of China arrived on this plane. The rest of the cargo is the personal protective equipment to provide our doctors during the period of spreading the virus and create the safe working environment,''-Ekaterine Tikaradze said.
PCR tests and extraction kit were purchased from companies authorized by the Chinese government.
The charter flight was carried out by Geoskay at a discounted price.
