Turnover of Caucasian Auto Import Reached ₾1 Billion Last Year

Georgia as the hub of the auto industry, challenges and opportunities - were the main topics discussed by Giorgi Surguladze, the director of "Caucasus Auto Import" and Giorgi Darchiashvili, the deputy director of the corporate and investment banking business of TBC, in the #concept format, in an interview with Giorgi Isakadze.

The partnership of one of the leading companies has been going on for 17 years, and during this time many joint products have been created.

''The history of Caucasus Auto Import begins in 2004, and our partnership begins in 2005. During these years, TBC and Caucasus Auto Import developed together and passed many interesting years and stages of development together. Since 2007, the company has focused more on retail direction and development outside the country. In 2017, the company entered the Ukrainian market. Last year - in Africa, on the Nigerian market, and from 2022 it is being developed in the United Emirates. Such a development was also reflected in the numbers, and last year the turnover of the company reached 1 billion GEL", says the deputy director of the corporate and investment banking business of TBC.

"We have been represented by an office in Nigeria for a year. It is a difficult market, but we are moving forward and developing," added the director of Caucasus Auto Import.

Speaking about the markets, Giorgi Surguladze also spoke about Ukraine and said that despite the war, "re-exports are strong in Ukraine and many cars are sold."

According to his assessment, the state also contributed to the development of the auto industry, and it is the result of this that today Georgia is one of the hubs of this industry.

"The geography of the hub is wide - Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Moldova, Ukraine and the countries we have already mentioned. These are the countries where cars are re-exported from Georgia," said Giorgi Surguladze.

''Every month, 5-6 thousand cars are re-exported from Georgia by Caucasus Auto Import", the deputy director of the corporate and investment banking business of TBC added.
