The EU, Sweden and Austria to Establish Georgian Mountain Tea Association

With the support of the European Union, Sweden, and Austria, the "Georgian Mountain Tea Association" was established within the GRETA project. 7 tea producers from the Imereti region have joined forces to strengthen their joint capabilities and promote Imereti tea in both domestic and international markets.

Green Mountain Tourism and Organic Agriculture (GRETA) is implemented by the Austrian Development Agency in Georgia with the support of the European Union, Austria and Sweden.

The objective of the action is to facilitate an improvement of the business environment and the creation of new income opportunities in sustainable mountain tourism and organic agriculture in order to reduce poverty and exclusion in the selected mountain areas of Georgia.

The project covers Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti, Racha-Lechkhumi and Kvemo Svaneti, and Zemo Imereti regions and entrepreneurs from the municipalities of Mestia, Lentekhi, Tsageri, Oni, Ambrolauri, Sachkheri, Chiaturi, and Tkibuli are involved.
