Surging Demand for Tiffany Technique Stained Glass: A Glimpse into Art Glass Studio's Success
Lia Tskvitinidze, the sales manager of Art Glass Studio in Batumi, has observed a consistent rise in demand for partitioned stained glass windows crafted using the Tiffany technique. Speaking with BusinessPartner, Tskvitinidze attributes this burgeoning interest to evolving societal tastes.
"People are becoming increasingly discerning about their surroundings, not just at home, but in places like eateries too. It's no longer just about the culinary experience at a restaurant; the ambiance, both internally and externally, matters immensely. This heightened aesthetic appreciation is also seen in residential settings, leading to a surge in demand for vibrantly colored stained-glass windows. We've observed equal enthusiasm from both individual homeowners and businesses, particularly restaurants," explained Tskvitinidze.
He went on to elucidate that whereas previously they might have had only a single order for Tiffany and classic stained glass designs in a season, they now boast 5-6 orders just this season. To cater to this growing market, Art Glass Studio is gearing up to hire additional talent and scale up production.
"Stained glass is undeniably a luxury product," Tskvitinidze remarked, noting that the price for one square meter starts from 1,500 to 2,000 GEL. The pricing is influenced by the intricacy of the craftsmanship, the diversity of hues, and the range of patterns.
Art Glass Studio owes its inception to Merab Mikeladze, who envisioned the enterprise a decade and a half ago. Initially starting small in Batumi, the company's trajectory took a significant leap in 2018 when it secured a 20,000 GEL grant from the "Enterprise in Georgia" agency. This grant facilitated the acquisition of a stained-glass contour machine, enhancing and streamlining the production process. Today, Art Glass Studio specializes in artistic stained glass, Tiffany designs, and engraving.
With Batumi as its production hub, the studio's exquisite creations are now coveted not just locally but also internationally. Stained glass from Adjara has graced spaces in countries including the Netherlands, the USA, France, and the Baltic nations.
