Based on the results of thousands of consumer-initiated tests taken using SpeedtestÒ, Silknet’s network was revealed as Georgia’s fastest mobile network*.
Ookla, the company behind Speedtest®, is the global leader in fixed broadband and mobile network testing applications, data and analysis. According to results taken using Ookla Speedtest, Silknet was named as Georgia’s fastest mobile network based on the last 6-month data of 2020.
Over ten million tests are actively initiated by consumers each day across all Speedtest platforms, with over 35 billion completed to date. Ookla accurately analyses the data, according to which it identifies the network speed. Its methodology uses the most accurate analytical platform to identify the best fixed and mobile networks that are generally available to consumers in a specific geographic area.
Ookla solutions have been adopted by a significant number of internet service providers and mobile carriers worldwide and have been translated into over 30 languages for use by thousands of businesses, governments, universities and trade organizations.
Therefore, Speedtest AwardsÔ is based on six months of historical data, called the award period. By using a six-month period, a critical mass of data can be collected.
Ookla’s analysis of consumer-initiated tests for six months of last year made in Georgia showed that Silknet has the fastest mobile network in Georgia.
