Shopping Malls Preparing to Reopen with Suggested Regulations
Shopping malls are preparing to reopen in the next phase of the economic activation plan scheduled for about June 8.
After several rounds of meetings with government officials, some of the regulations that malls, their rental stores and consumers themselves must comply with are already known.
The opening dates of shopping malls depend on how quickly the malls comply with government regulations. The specific guidelines are not yet public, but as the business itself says, they are ready to move to new standards.
Using face masks, desinfection barriers, keeping distance and thermal screening are mandatory. In addition to that other technical issues must be consideres, such as: ventilation, cleaning regulations, desinfection of whole site, limiting customers in the stores.
All the necessary costs will be paid by the administrations of the malls, but the implementation of certain regulations will be mandatory for tenants of shopping malls.
The regulations also apply to consumers. They will be able to visit the malls only with face masks on.
Unlike others, the estimated opening date for Lilo Mall as an open-type market is already known. As the general director of the mall told BM.ge, about 40% of the mall, except shoe and clothing stores, will likely be able to resume operations from May 25, although the market administration is still waiting for a list of further mandatory recommendations from the government.
