Sakhe-Dari Considers Making Chocolate and Liquor from Donkey Milk
If the demand grows, Donkey Farm "Sakhe-Dari" will offer chocolate and liquor made from donkey's milk to customers.
The founder of "Sakhe-Dari" Temur Lomidze told "Business Partner" that the product made from donkey milk is perishable and relatively expensive, therefore, he plans production based on demand.
According to his statement, the price of 1 kg of chocolate will be around 250 GEL, and the price of 1 liter of liquor will be 130 GEL.
According to Lomidze, a donkey farm consisting of 100 animals currently sells 700 liters of donkey milk per year. The company also produces milk powder, which is an ideal form for export.
In addition to the local market, the donkey farm "Sakhe-Dari" sells donkey milk and milk powder made from it, as well as cosmetic products - lipstick, face cream (6 types), and soap in the USA and is working to expand export markets in the future.
According to Lomidze, currently, milk powder is produced in cooperation with Bacteriophage.
In the local market, 1 liter of donkey milk costs 70 GEL, and 1 kg of cheese costs 1500 GEL. The cost of soaps is 20 GEL, and the price of 1 gram of face cream is 1 GEL.
Donkey farm "Sakhe-Dari" was founded in 2016 on the territory of 20-30 ha in the village of Saakadze in the Marfevi district.
Despite the high price, there is a great demand for "Sakhe-Dari" products, which the farmer attributes to their unique properties, noting that donkey milk is an indispensable product for treatment, strengthening immunity, and many other purposes, whose unique properties are recognized by medicine.
