Sago’s Cabin – Wooden Cottages by 22-Year-Old Goga Otinashvili

Sago’s Cabin was created, when many other businesses had to suspend operation amid the pandemic. Having lost the job, I started thinking of future plans. I decided to implement my old dream under the brand of Sago, where I had launched the production of wooden toys 3 years before, the company founder Goga Otinashvili, 22, told marketer.ge.

Having a finished public school, he continued studies at Business Management faculty and also engaged in startup activities. In 2016, he established a wooden toys brand SAGO. In 2020, he decided to use his knowledge about the construction of small wooden cottages in practice. After the quarantine, he opened a wooden materials store and launched the construction of the first cottage. The project was finished successfully.

“This was the beginning of the end”, he said. “I prioritize to ensure high quality and meet ecological standards, unlike other chaotic projects. Emotion - this is our niche on the market. The tourism industry is developed actively in Georgia and the major part of our clients represents this sector. Though, we have clients who order our products as residences.

The highest demand is recorded from highland regions, Goga Otinashvili noted. Sago’s cottages are manufactured at a Tbilisi-based workshop, where certain details of cottages and attractions are made and the main part of structures and the cottages are built on the places allocated by customers. The standard price of a 1-square-meter structure is 750 GEL.

Construction of each cottage depends on the peculiarities of the location, climate conditions, and various parameters. The construction process takes 3-4 weeks on average. As for future plans, I lave applied to Enterprise Georgia’s program for small grants to take a micro-grant and introduce new services for hotel and tourism industries. Namely, we will manufacture the 2-bed trailer cottages. Thus, travelers and holidaymakers will be able to reach any location in Georgia with our trailer cottages and spend a wonderful time.
