Revenue of Cargon Reaches $2 Million - Plans of Startup Before Travelling to US
Revenues of Cargon reached $1.9 million last year, an increase of almost 100% compared to 2019. It is difficult to call such a profitable business a startup, but the team members themselves believe that they still have a lot to learn and want to maintain at least such a pace of development for a long time.
The company, which connects
cargo owners and carriers will soon travel to Silicon Valley together with the other 500 Startups winners. Before that, Cargon is already trying to implement the experience gained in the acceleration program in 3 countries.
Apart from Georgia, Cargon operates in two countries, Russia and Armenia. At the end of the year, several countries will also be added to the list.
"The idea of Uberisation, which started in almost all industries at the same time, was fascinating for me. Other non-ordinary visioned companies emerged, including Netflix and Airbnb, where consumers shared the same product. One of the founders was involved in the logistics business and I offered the idea to create Cargon."
Then they had a business plan and a first grant - 100,000 GEL from Startup Georgia.
"500 Startups turned out to be a serious impetus for the development of Cargon. Communicating with mentors helped us rearrange internal processes, completely changed the UX / UI design, and so on. As for investor relations, obviously, we have had a number of attempts so far, however, when you get validation from the world’s top accelerator, everyone looks at you with different eyes and shows more serious interest. We have become more self-confident.”, noted Chaladze.
