Pitcher Beer Company Vardzia Postpones Opening Beer Store and Arranging Meskhetian Mini-Village
Pitcher beer manufacturer company "Vardzia" has temporarily postponed the arrangement of a Meskhetian mini-village in Aspindza and the opening of a Qvevri beer store in Tbilisi.
According to the founder of the company, Zaza Zedgenidze, the reason is the lack of tourists. The businessman plans to implement these projects after the situation stabilizes (meaning the post-pandemic period and the Russia-Ukraine war).
"Tourism business is very sensitive. If the latter does not change, then launching the project is not worth it. Especially since 70% of our customers are foreigners.
If the demand for hotels increases, we want to make a small prototype of a Meskhetian village. It will include 8-10 residential-type houses, with terraces."
The project requires an investment of about half a million GEL.
Currently, the company produces 7 varieties of pitcher beer. Beer bottled in 0.5-liter bottles is sold in AgroHub and Goodwill stores.
