New Project to Launch in Tkibuli with $1.2 Million Investment
The owner of Tkibuli Mountains Tea, Levan Tskipurishvili plans to arrange a tea processing plant, degustation center a 4-room hotel in Tkibuli. According to him, the total amount of the investment is $1,2 million.
The construction of a processing plant, a tea culture center, and a small hotel in Tkibuli will be completed in May, and 15 people will be employed on-site, in addition to 50 locals will be hired for tea harvesting seasons.
"We will offer visitors different types of tea at the Tea Culture Center." noted Levan Tskipurishvili, whose plans include creating a tourist attraction.
The tea factory will be able to process 100 tons of tea per year, however, since it owns only 25 hectares of tea plantations, as the owner suggested it may process 8-10 tons of tea this year. Roughly 19 hectares of plantations have been leased from the state for 25 years, part of which has been renewed by the state program of tea plantation rehabilitation.
