New Aeroclub 1*209 to Build Near Tbilisi

1*209 is the name of Aeroclub, and behind this the famous pilot, Besarion Keburia stands. He was the first Georgian pilot to officially receive a license in Paris and became the 209th pilot in the world. This is connected with the origin of the name of the club.

"We think, that the landscape and terms of this small country are very interesting, thus we thought that this field should be developed. We started in December 2019 and it has been 1 or 2 months since we registered our Aeroclub. Guests will be able to be acquainted with aviation, examine the country with the pilots on the plane ride.", noted Ilia Injia.

The location of the aerodrome is still under consideration, however, as they noted in the club, it will be near Tbilisi and probably the old Soviet aerodrome will be rehabilitated for the base.

The investment volume of the project is about half a million to one million GEL. As for Ilia Injia, the negotiations are underway with several companies, including one based in Greece, from which it is planned to purchase the first Cessna 72 aircraft.
