Multifunctional Libraries Start Organizing Educational Meetings
Supporting informal education, within the collaboration of Bank of Georgia and Georgian Book Institute, multifunctional libraries are arranged, which are already used to organize different varieties of events.
As schools are actively trying to use the resources available at libraries, they start to organize educational meetings.
Within the frameworks of this initiative, Dato Turashvili met students online, and the discussion was held.
In accordance with COVID-related regulations, above-mentioned spaces are able to function actively within the terms of a pandemic. A number of activities are also held in the educational spaces, such as World Read Aloud Day, summary presentations, international online conferences, and more.
The aim of the project is to create spaces for school students, who will be able to have a wide choice of books, access to various information electronically and jointly develop ideas, prepare projects. It is a space where acquiring knowledge will turn into a fun and enjoyable process. In 2020, 3 schools (Ditsi, Khurvaleti, Poti, Tbilisi) have already settled such space- Ideathek for 2,204 students. The project will continue and more and more schoolchildren will have access to the spaces of informal education.
