Microsoft Empowers Georgian Tech Innovators with a Cutting-Edge Lab at the University of Business and Technology
Microsoft, a global titan in the field of technology, has fortified its commitment to innovation by inaugurating an advanced laboratory at Georgia's prestigious University of Business and Technology (BTU). The principal objective of this state-of-the-art lab is to enhance the acquisition of digital skills for students and professors, bringing them up to speed with the ever-evolving tech industry.
The lab aims to be an accelerator of academic transformation, providing a wide array of resources and experiences to enhance the educational landscape. Open to students, alumni, professors, and tech enthusiasts from the general public, the laboratory is expected to act as a platform for multiple exciting opportunities. This includes support for projects and research, organization of seminars and trainings, fostering innovation and entrepreneurship, hosting hackathons and competitions, and offering career support. Moreover, the lab will play a pivotal role in developing training programs and strategizing digital transformation.
Nino Enukidze, the rector of BTU, stressed the profound significance of this initiative, not only for the students, but for anyone with an interest in technology. "The establishment of the Microsoft lab at BTU is monumental news for all of our stakeholders. It will participate in the development of the BTU AI platform, and create and publicize various AI-based solutions," Enukidze said. "Additionally, the lab will be integrally involved in ongoing projects relating to cybersecurity, blockchain, and other emergent technologies. We are ecstatic that Microsoft's representatives visited our university and expressed their enthusiasm for collaborating with us."
As part of the Microsoft Learn for Educators program, BTU is privy to exclusive Microsoft content to enhance its curriculum. The program empowers academic institutions like schools, universities, colleges, and high schools, setting students on a path to success in the digital world.
Sergey Leshenko, Microsoft's regional manager in the CIS countries, expressed delight over the partnership. The delegation members, following the inauguration of the lab, conducted the first-ever workshop in Georgia on the theme "Skills and Employment in the Age of AI." This workshop catered to companies in the technology sector, emphasizing the importance of the lab as a hub for groundbreaking innovations and technological advancements.
