Irakli Gharibashvili: Georgia Offers Investors an Attractive Proposition
"Georgia offers investors an essentially attractive proposal, because we have created such a tax model, within the framework of which retained earnings are not taxed," - Prime Minister of Georgia Irakli Gharibashvili said about this at the World Government Summit, where he delivered a speech on the topic "Going to the new arena of Georgia's potential - the way to economic prosperity".
According to the head of the government, in addition, Georgia has four free industrial zones. In these zones, export goods are produced and exempted from taxes. All this contributes to Georgia as an attractive place to do business.
"According to the assessment of the investment policy, based on the index of restrictions on direct foreign investment by regulatory norms, Georgia ranks 8th among 80 countries and indicates the world's most open economy in terms of investment attractiveness. In the 2022 index of economic freedom of The Heritage Foundation, Georgia ranks 18th in Europe and ahead ahead of many member states of the European Union, and in the global ranking it takes the 26th place among 177 countries. This recognition testifies to the huge progress we have achieved by promoting economic freedom and creating a more successful future for all citizens," Gharibashvili said.
