The project of 3 and 5-star hotels on Aghmashenebeli Avenue is suspended as a result of the pandemic.
According to the CEO of Georgian Hotel Management, Davit Gelbakhiani, the three-star hotel IBIS Stadium Tbilisi which is part of Accor Group, was suspended in March because of the pandemic. The investment price of a 150-room hotel is 7,5 million Euros. Due to the fact, that the hotel was mainly intended for tourists, as a result of suspended flights and the current situation, the management decided that IBIS stadium Tbilisi will not be resumed until March 2021.
As for the five-star hotel which is also part of Accor group, will start operating as Hotel 1930. According to Davit Gelbakhiani, the renovation works of the hotel are also suspended. The investment price of the 5-star hotel which will include 20 rooms, is 3 million GEL.
