Giorgi Pertaia Elected as Member of General Council of World Chambers Federation

Giorgi Pertaia, president of the Georgian Chamber of Commerce, was elected as a member of the World Chambers Federation (WCF) General Council. As a result of the vote, 20 members of the General Council were selected from around the world to lead the WCF for two years, from 2023 to 2025.

The Chamber of Commerce of Georgia is the only chamber from the region that is represented as a member of the Union Council. 1200 member chambers from 130 countries took part in the voting procedure.

The World Federation of Chambers is the governing body of international chambers of commerce - the largest business association that unites more than 1,200 chambers of commerce and 45 million businesses from different countries around the world. The main activity of the Federation is to promote the effective work of the Chambers in order to develop the private sector.

Membership of the General Council of the Federation of World Chambers involves the development of the strategic directions of the Federation and the development of the services provided, ensures the promotion of the role of Chambers of Commerce and the strengthening of partnership relations, as well as the support of the role of the Federation to represent the global interests of the Chambers.
