Giorgi Jakhutashvili: We can Annually Attract $100-200 Million Investments from Kazakhstan
Kazakh investors have increased interest in Georgia in more traditional markets, real estate, financial sector ... - said the chairman of the board of the Kazakh-Georgian Economic Union.
Giorgi Jakhutashvili told Business Partner that Kazakhstan needs to diversify its capital, and that Georgia is a familiar and accessible market for them, both physically and in terms of language barriers and culture.
"Now it is up to Georgia to offer specific investment projects and implement these projects on time, because I know several projects that are ready financially and in every way, but due to certain circumstances the process is delayed. This will certainly slow down the growing interest from Kazakh investors.
We do not know exactly how much investment was made from Kazakhstan in 2021. We are waiting for the end of the year, because it is an ongoing process, but there is an expectation that this year's data will be better than last year," - said Giorgi Jakhutashvili.
According to him, Kazakhstan has already invested $ 350 million in Georgia and it will be a dangerous trend if they start withdrawing capital from the country.
"First of all, the task of our organization is to somehow stop the outflow of large investments, to talk about the problems and needs, to talk about private business, because if a large business leaves the market, we can no longer talk to Kazakh private business to make large investments in Georgia. And we have done some successful business, for example, this year, if Kazakh investments do not exceed $ 15- $ 20 million, in the future we can reach $ 100-200 million annually, "said the chairman of the board of the Kazakh-Georgian Economic Union.
