Georgian Handmade Footwear Brand 'Geode' Prepares to Tap into the Amazon Marketplace

The distinctive Georgian handmade shoe brand 'Geode' is preparing to make its mark on the international platform, Amazon. Tamar Khebrelashvili, the founder of Geode, confirmed that they have already initiated the process to become part of the global retail giant and are now entering the final stage of this venture.

Speaking to 'Business Partner', Khebrelashvili shared that before launching on Amazon, Geode is working towards scaling up its production volume. "We are required to dispatch a specific number of shoes to the US and assemble them there. Prior to this, we must register as a brand on the international platform - a process that typically takes about eight months. We are well into this process, and by the start of 2024, Geode will be featured on Amazon with its own dedicated page. We anticipate that this move will result in a significant boost in our sales," elaborated Khebrelashvili.

Geode's products are already popular on Etsy, an international e-commerce website focused on handmade or vintage items. "Our unique blend of sports-classic shoes from the mixed line are incredibly popular with international customers. We've received orders from the USA, Canada, Australia, the UK, Italy, among others. The positive feedback and comments we've received have been extremely encouraging," Khebrelashvili stated.

This September, Geode is set to showcase its products at an international exhibition of leather and leather products held in Milan, hoping to attract further international clientele. "We are hoping to secure large orders and sign new export contracts during the exhibition. We also have plans to expand our export operations to the US by year's end," Khebrelashvili added.

Founded during the pandemic, Geode has quickly become a prominent brand, boasting a selection of over 30 types of handmade shoes crafted from imported natural leather. Their diverse range includes women's, men's, and children's shoes, further demonstrating the brand's commitment to catering to a wide array of customers.
