Georgian gold Exports to Switzerland and Germany
The main export market of Georgian gold is Switzerland, where 93% of Georgian export gold was sold. Germany commands the rest of the share.
A total of $13.432 million worth of gold was exported from Georgia in January-February, and an annual increase was just below 53%.
Gold is on the ninth place in the TOP 10 of Georgia Export Basket with 1.8% share.
In January-February 2021, $8.8 million worth of gold was exported to Switzerland, which was the main exporter and to Turkey with a small share.
It is also worth mentioning that gold exports exceeded the pre-pandemic rate. In January-February of 2019, the country exported $10.98 million worth of gold to export markets (in the same period in 2018, the figure accounted for $14.4 million), including Switzerland, the United Arab Emirates and Turkey.
