GCFUND Plans to Complete Mtkvari HPP Construction in 2021

Georgian Co-Investment Fund plans to complete construction works of Mtkvari HPP at the end of 2021. 

The executive director of GCF, Tsotne Ebralidze mentioned, that Mtkvari HPP is the largest project of GCF in terms of investment. The total amount of investment reaches $157 million.

"The project is underway. In early February 2020, the excavation of the longest and largest diameter tunnel with double Shield TBM in Georgia was completed within the framework of" Mtkvari HPP "(the length of the tunnel is 9.6 km and the diameter of the excavation is 6 Meters). The excavation of the tunnel was one of the most important and long-term stages of the project, with the completion of this phase the construction moved to its final stage.”, noted Tsotne Ebralidze.
