"Element Holding" Partners with USAID to Train 300 in Construction Skills

Georgian construction company "Element Holding" has joined forces with USAID through its "Employers for Professional Education" and "USAID Economic Management Program".

Zakro Ebelashvili, the company's executive director, shared details on the "Business Partner" program about this collaborative venture, set to span two years and aimed at training 300 individuals in the construction field.

Ebelashvili elaborated that the training will cover 16 different areas within construction. Following the program's completion, "Element Holding" plans to broaden its retraining scope by introducing additional courses.

"With the rapid development of the construction sector, it's crucial for us, as a holding, to adapt to these dynamics, which necessitates robust partnerships. Our goal extends beyond our immediate specializations to encompass the broader sector," Ebelashvili stated.

He emphasized the growing importance of aligning with European standards in Georgia's construction market, especially as the country moves closer to the European Union. "Preparing for service exports in Europe is key. Without understanding the positioning and adhering to Eurocodes, which are not just codes but integral standards for design and construction, our entry into the European market would be unfeasible," he explained.

Ebelashvili also highlighted the need to enhance awareness among companies and citizens about the significance of Eurocodes for Georgia's construction industry and the necessity for companies to allocate additional resources towards this transition.
