Eighty-Six Restaurants to Go on 24-Hour Strike to Protest Lockdown On January 30, over 80 Tbilisi-based restaurants will cease operation for 24 hours, Shota Burjanadze, director of the Association of Restaurants told BM.GE.
“Lockdown has led the country to the social upheaval. Business sectors go bankrupt. Unemployment rates grow. There are no efficient problem resolution mechanisms because the Authorities cannot valuably appraise the existing problems and just urges citizens to use delivery services. Therefore, we will stop delivery and online services for 24 hours. On January 30, at 15 o’clock, we will join the protest rally in front of the State Chancellery. We hope citizens will understand our decision coming from the extreme disparity”, the statement released by restaurants reads.
