Diana Kighuradze: We Aim to Digitize 50 Million Businesses by 2025
"It's our global responsibility to digitize 50 million businesses by 2025," Diana Kighuradze, Visa's Regional Manager and CEO in the Caucasus, told Forbes Weekly.
"This is a very ambitious plan and I want to tell you that we have already implemented about half of this plan. This plan ends with geometric progress, as the introduction of new technologies in the market boost leads in terms of increasing the number of companies we help digitize.
Similar new technology is Tap to phone, the existence of which is important for small businesses in the markets as it opens up the possibility for them to offer customers a means of payment. In this way, we meet all the innovations that are needed for consumers to actively use card tools," Diana said.
Diana Kighuradze also spoke about Visa's future plans in Georgia and noted that the company plans to develop payment infrastructure, support small and medium-sized businesses, introduce new technologies and strengthen women's leadership.
"All these plans serve to develop electronic payments in the country and become the number one country in terms of contactless payments. Today, out of 100 GEL, only 30 GEL is spent cash-free. I believe that in the coming years we will do our best to increase 30 GEL to 40 and 60 GEL," Diana noted.
