Club Mtkvarze: We Open Our Doors on December 17th After 2 Years
Clubs are awaiting opening after two years. According to Keta Gabunia, co-founder of the Mtkvarze Club, the clubs will open on December 17 and preparations are underway.
Gabunia says there are certain requirements that will allow nightclubs to operate. These criteria were developed by the industry and agreed with the Labor Inspectorate.
''Only people with green passes will be allowed to enter the clubs. We will not accept either a rapid test or an incomprehensible Covid pass. The club must have a ventilation system with special technical requirements.
The company will have to add new staff who will control both the queue and the green passes, as well as the ventilation system, so that it always works properly. To this will be added all the demands that exist towards everyone, ”Gabunia said.
Another criterion that the club administration will have to meet is to use only 50% of the existing space.
Regarding the finances of opening a 2-year closed business and how profitable it will be to work against the restrictions imposed on the company, Gabunia says that the company will have to work at a fairly small profit margin at this stage.
"Everything has become more expensive, including beverages, it is a completely different reality. Increased utility tariffs, bringing in foreign artists will probably be delayed for a long time.
We will reduce costs to a minimum as much as possible. If you used to have 7-8 bartenders, now we will work with 4-5 bartenders. With the same load we can not really continue the activity, however, in the process of working it will appear whether it's worth it or not. The situation is aggravated by the fact that there is a very small number of tourists, which was our important segment, "- said Gabunia.
We would like to remind you that on December 17, after a two-year pause, clubs will be opened throughout Georgia. Night clubs in Georgia have been closed since March 6, 2021.
