Chikori Enters French Market

The demand for Georgian dried fruit on international markets is increasing. The product manufactured by the company "Kareli Fruits" under the brand "Chikori" was recently exported to France.

According to the founder of the company, Giorgi Kvirikadze, entering the French market is a great success for "Chikori".

"This is a highly competitive market with high demands and standards. Our quality is acceptable for the French side, therefore the demand was high and we sent quite a large volume of products."

He further added that it is essential for Georgian farmers to engage more in agriculture to be able to meet the growing demand in foreign markets. As for the challenges, due to the Russia-Ukraine war, the supply chain has been disrupted, transportation costs have increased as well as price of raw materials.

"However, these processes did not have a huge impact on our company, since we buy raw materials on the local market. Accordingly, we did not have to change our export plans."

Dried fruit produced by Kareli fruit is currently exported to Poland, Germany, Baltic countries, etc.
