BTU is Launching Activities in the Direction of Fintech
Research, updated training module, workshops and trainings, hackathon - these are the activities planned by the University of Business and Technology in the direction of Fintech within the framework of 5.0.
BTU is the first university in Georgia to start teaching financial technology as a course in the Bachelor of Finance program. The university is very interested in Fintech and that is why it is planned to implement a number of interesting projects with local and international partners.
BTU has actively started cooperation with Fintech Association and BackOffice, with which it is planned to strengthen open banking in Georgia by supporting Fintech startups, holding projects, conferences and various events together with Fintech Association.
Fintech Hackathon will be held in partnership with the Bank of Georgia. Webinars and training will be held for participants within the hackathon. Fintech is a strategic direction of the Bank of Georgia, which was created within the framework of the introduction of the Open Banking strategy. Bank of Georgia is the first in Georgia and the region to present its own open banking program.
A study is planned at BTU to develop Fintech. Within the framework of Initiative 5.0, the University aims to prepare a comprehensive market research, which aims to support organizations involved in this field, to share information in order to involve more stakeholders in the development of the field. The research will study the development of the fintech industry in Georgia. The study also plans to work on "Trends in the Payment Industry in Georgia", which will reveal which services are popular in the Georgian tax market today and in what direction can Fintech companies develop.
