Blueberry Enterprise Launched in Samegrelo with a ₾2.3 Million Investment

"Blue Bird Berries" company, with an investment of 2.3 million GEL, launched a blueberry storage and processing enterprise equipped with modern standards in the Samegrelo region.

More than 25 locals are employed in the enterprise, which provides storage and processing of 600 tons of blueberries per season.

As the company representative says, "Blue Bird Berries" blueberries will be sold both on the export and local markets.

"Blue Bird Berries" received a grant of 500,000 GEL from the Rural Development Agency and benefited from a preferential agro-credit of 1.4 million GEL.

In the Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region, within the framework of the co-financing program of processing and storage enterprises of the Rural Development Agency, 21 enterprises are co-financed, and the state co-financing amounted to more than 10.5 million GEL. Within the framework of the "Plant the Future" program, in the Samegrelo region, blueberry culture is planted on 1,300 ha, and the state co-financing amounts to more than 23.9 million GEL.
