Anigozi Plans to Release Walnuts with Vacuum Packing
In the summer of 2021, the company Anigozi plans to build a walnuts and almonds processing factory. The company will also use hazelnuts harvested in its own garden as well as purchased from locals, and the final product will be vacuum packed walnut kernels.
Anigozi is a newly developed company, which was founded by 26 years old Gogi Bolkvadze and Ana Kevkhishvili.
"Our family already has vineyards and we decided to do something new. We focused on walnuts. Currently, we have 6 hectares of walnuts plantation in Telavi. We've also decided to process hazelnuts and applied to the Georgian agricultural agency with the project.", says Ana Kevkhishvili.
The investment price of the processing factory was 3 million GEL, part of the cost is a bank loan, and the rest of it - state grant. The construction works of the factory are underway.
As she noted, their main goal now is to replace imports. Their future plans also involve exporting production.
"Georgian walnut has good exporting perspectives, no less than ordinary hazelnuts, which bring tens of millions of dollars a year into the county."
Currently, the company holds negotiations with local farmers in the regions of Kakheti, Kartli, and Adjara.
