About 800 Foreign Citizens Expressed their Desire to come to Georgia and work Remotely in One Month

Up to 800 citizens from different countries were registered from August 27 to October 4 within the framework of the project of the National Tourism Administration "Work from Georgia".

As part of the project, the country is visited by strategically important, high-income visitors, one of the selection criteria of which is the average monthly minimum income - $ 2,000.

The citizens of the USA, Australia, Great Britain, Russia, Ukraine, New Zealand, and Canada have already visited Georgia within the framework of the "Work from Georgia" project. Visitors will stay in Georgia for the long term and work remotely.

The categories of applications received are as follows: 53% self-employed, 28% full-time, and 19% entrepreneur.

Applicants registered under the project represent more than 60 different countries by nationality.

Citizens of the following countries were included in the top five:

o Russia - 28%

o USA - 18%

o Belarus 6%

o UK - 5%

o Ukraine - 5%

Up to 350 interested people have already applied for the applications. Up to 80 applications were not satisfied.

"Work from Georgia" is an innovative project developed by the Government of Georgia during the COVID Pandemic to stimulate and encourage the tourism industry. Our goal within the project is to attract even more affluent tourists from strategic countries, who will live in our country for a relatively long time and work remotely from Georgia. In a very short period of time, in about 1 month, we have received applications from 800 foreign citizens from 60 countries, who express a desire to come to Georgia and work remotely,''-said Mariam Kvrivishvili.
