83% of Georgian Citizens Support Country’s EU Membership

83% of Georgian citizens are supporting the country’s integration in the European Union, shows a public opinion survey taken by the National Democratic Institute (NDI).

According to the report, compared to June 2018 the number of supporters of EU integration has increased by 2% and is now up to 83%. According to the survey, youth are more likely to support EU integration. Among the 18-34 age bracket, 89% support EU integration. Among the 34-54 age group – 83% support it and those in the 55+ age group support EU integration at a rate of 78%.

The results reflect data collected from December 6 to 20 through face-to-face interviews with a nationwide representative sample of Georgia’s adult population, excluding occupied territories, that included 2,205 completed interviews. The average margin of error is +/- 2.1 percent.
