As long as Turkey is next to Azerbaijan, the country will not have any border issues, the PM of Turkey Ahmet Davutoglu told the local news agency Anadolu.
The PM stressed that Turkey has always been close with Azerbaijan and will always support the brotherly republic.
The conflict that divided the two South Caucasus countries Armenia and Azerbaijan commenced in 1988 after a military conflict over the Nagorno-Karabakh region.
Turkish PM explicitly sides with the Azerbaijani perspective of the conflict. According to him, the successes of Azerbaijan are successes of Turkey. He stressed that the Victory Day celebrated in Turkey on August 30th is also Azerbaijan’s day.
Turkey annually celebrates August 30th, which marks the victory against the Greek forces in the Battle of Dumlupinar in 1922.
