The most transparent governments in the world

The UK has the world’s most transparent government, according to a list of 86 countries compiled by Sir Tim Berners-Lee, the British inventor of the internet.

Governments are ranked on how accessible they make data on how money is spent, how public services are performing, company registers, public sector contracts, and land titles.

But Sir Tim notes that the UK still has “a long way to go” before it has a fully open government.
