Russia’s Gazprom started supplying gas to Azerbaijan on September 29. The average volume of supplies totals about 6 mln cubic meters, says the information of Gazprom.
Gas is supplied in accordance with the purchase-sale agreement signed for a five year period in September of this year with possible extension of its term, Caspian Energy News reports with reference to RIA Novosti. The agreement envisages annual supply of up to 2 bcm of gas to Azerbaijan.
“Import of Russian gas will help to meet the additional gas needs of Azerbaijan as its economy and domestic consumption grow”, says the information.
