Summary of Year in Wine by National Wine Agency

According to the head of the National Wine Agency Levan Mukhuzla, Georgian wine will be sold in Scandinavia, Canada and Switzerland from 2019.

In  Levan Mukhuzla’s words, work is underway to release Georgian wine on the market where it has not been presented that is associated with difficulties.

In  January-November 2018, 78 million bottles of wine were exported from Georgia to 53 countries that is 11% more than in the same period of 2017.

Exports amounted to $ 184.1 million, which is 19% more than in the same period of 2017.

Exports grew in the strategic markets of Georgian wine: Great Britain – 34% (103,724), Japan – 30% (201,275 bottles), Poland – 27% (3,026,652) and the USA – 3% (456,376). Growth was also recorded in the direction of Europe and America: Romania 477% (99,774), the Czech Republic – 69% (57,708), the Netherlands – 41% (72,249), Lithuania – 19% (439,980), France – (15% 885 ), Estonia – 11% (509,840), Latvia – 10% (1 612 234), Germany – 9% (439 638), Canada – 7% (173538), etc.

Wine exports grew in the traditional markets of Asia, in particular, Turkmenistan – 102% (135,294), Kyrgyzstan – 34% (179,610), Azerbaijan – 31% (146,256), Mongolia – 27% ( 214 398) Russia – 11% (48 587 707), South Korea – 275% (68 124), Singapore 6700% – (40 800), Ukraine – 24% (9 525 172), Kazakhstan – 10% (3 396 452 ).

The top five exporting countries are Russia (48,587,707), Ukraine (9,525,172), China (6275909), Kazakhstan (3,396,452) and Poland (3,026,652).
