Japan Emerges as the Second Biggest Export Market for Georgian Wines

“This year Chateau Mukhrani prioritizes to penetrate Japanese market. Therefore, the company plans to boost marketing activities in Japan”, Chateau Mukhrani global brand manager Giorgi Apkhazava told BM.Ge.

“The company director general Patrick Honeff will visit Japan to introduce our wines to HoReCa and hotel networks. This is widespread practice. Referring of an executive director works as a catalyst for sales, decisions are taken from the strateguc point of view to determine target markets: Japan is the most informed market in wine field among Asian countries. The country has financial resources and the population is solvent, our wines are in premium segment and these factors are of crucial importance for us.

Moreover, new trend has emerged in Japan for Qvevri wines. Many companies have launched exports of Qvevri wines to Japan from Georgia. All these factors show that Japan will be the second biggest market for Georgian wine after China” Giorgi Apkhazava said.
