Georgia Has Record Volume of Harvest in 2018

Levan Davitashvili, Minister of Environment Protection and Natural Resources, has updated journalists about the 2018 vintage results. The Minister has talked about the job that the Georgian Authorities have fulfilled for promotion of winegrowing-winemaking sector over the past 6 years.

“This year we have a record volume of harvest. Companies have processed more than 230 000 tons of grapes. Our farmers earned more than 300 million GEL incomes. Georgian wine exports have also recorded unprecedented figures. By the end of 2018 we will have exported about 100 million bottles.

This is the completion of a certain phase in Georgian winemaking. Starting 2019, we will launch implementation a new 5-year strategy and we have created all preconditions to attain this goal”, Levan Davitashvili noted.
