In January-October 2018, a total of 7 507 517 international visitors arrived in Georgia. According to National Tourism Administration, tourist inflows particularly increased from several countries.
For example, in January-October 2017, Georgia hosted one citizen from Guyana, this year 20 visitors arrived from the same country (1900% upturn). In 2017, one person arrived from African Benigni, this year the number rose to 14 ones (1300% upturn). Three visits were carried out from Andorra, 41 visits – in 2018 (1266% upturn). One visit was recorded from Brunei, 13 ones in 2018 (up 1200%).
For the first time citizens of Saint Vincent and the Grenadines (4 visitors) and Nauru Island (7 visitors) arrived in Georgia in 2018.
The mentioned indicators are related to sport events held in Georgia. Teams from Guyana, Andorra, Brunei and Nauru have attended Chess Olympiad in Batumi, Adjara. In October Georgia also hosted Andorra national team in football and 33 citizens of Andorra arrived in Georgia in October 2018.
