National Tourism Administration Refuses Information on Regulation of Airbnb-registered Apartments

The information spread in social networks as if the National Tourism Administration planned to either impose certain restrictions on Airbnb-registered apartments and houses or tax this service is untrue.

Giorgi Chogovadze, head of the National Tourism Administration, says that the Administration is ready to join discussions about certification of guides, licensing of hotels, introduction of optional rating systems.

National Tourism Administration welcomes opening as many accommodation facilities for foreign tourists as possible, including rental of apartments. This component enables to attract more tourists to the country. We provide active job for growing tourist flows, as this signifies growing incomes for our citizens and various positive economic benefits.

We would like to stress again that the information as if we plan to set regulations on Airbnb-registered apartments and houses is untrue.
