iPhone 7 On Sale September 16th, Preorders Early September

This week’s Apple Loop includes the retail release dates of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus, the disappointing changes in the new iPhones, the iPhone 8 going for a glass chassis,  thoughts on the Apple Watch 2, why Apple needs to stop selling old computers, details on the new Mac laptops, why iOS was updated to 9.3.4, and Fast Company’s profile of Apple ahead of September’s product launches.

Apple Loop is here to remind you of a few of the very many discussions that have happened around Apple over the last seven days (and you can read the weekly digest of Android news here on Forbes).

iPhone 7′s Coming Out Date

Noted Apple reporter Mark Gurman may have moved to Bloomberg, but he’s still getting the information. This time around it’s the confirmation of the upcoming iPhone’s announcement:

Somewhat burying the headline in an article about MacBook Pro upgrades [more on that shortly], Bloomberg has casually confirmed that Apple will launch the iPhone 7 at an event on September 7th… What’s more September 7th ties in perfectly with news last month from Evan Blass (aka @evleaks) that pre-orders for the iPhone 7 will begin on September 9th, with a subsequent release date of September 16th.
