GEBUY – Georgian Startup of Online Outlet Store

GEBUY is a Georgian startup of online store, which cooperates with German and Italian brand outlets. Every product is original with European quality and design.

Store is more than just another average online retailer. They sell not only top quality products, but give customers a positive online shopping experience. Consumers can purchase the goods you need every day or just like in a few clicks or taps, depending on the device thet use to access the Internet.

Please tell us a little bit about your company – what is GEBUY all about?

GeBuy is the first outlet online store in Georgia that enables to order clothes, shoes and accessories of such brands of Versace, Armani, Pierre Cardin for quite affordable prices, without delivery fees.

We decided to establish this brand, because there was not similar service in Georgia, we wanted to provide this opportunity for people, who could not or did not have time to do shopping abroad. It should be also noted that value of these brands is much higher in Europe than on our website, because we have signed special agreements with suppliers.

Please tell us a little bit about your background and how you started your company.

The brand was shaped by people with various experience. Mr. Gogi Sozashvili and Zurab Rainauli, on the one hand, who had huge experience in international business, product shipping and so on. On the other hand, there was a team of young entrepreneurs and this team had long worked on innovative products – Nika and Sandro Rostomashvilis, Andro Kikabidze, Ilia Ghlonti, Pavle Chkoidze and Giorgi Tabatadze.

Mr. Gogi  decided to implement this idea by cooperation with this team. They developed a website, planned branding details and the brand launched operation.

What are some of the projects you are working on right now?

Currently, our key objective is to popularize the brand and we are doing our best in this respect.

What are your plans for the future, how do you plan to grow this company?

Today our key objective is to redirect online buyers to our website, prove our reliability and our efficiency as compared to any competitors. Consequently, we want to make gebuy.net as famous in Georgia as Amazon and Ebay. Later, we plan to involve offline buyers in online format and this will be other challenge and other resources will be required.

How do you go about marketing your business, and what has been the most successful form of marketing for you?

Since we fully work in electronic space, Facebook remains our main source and we prepare target advertisments, beautiful and refined video and photo materials. We also take maximum efforts to make our brand perceptible in mass media so as media agencies help us in spreading information about our brand.

What would you say are the top skills needed to be a successful startup?

Our team members believe that we should take multiple efforts  and never surrender. The first project rarely becomes super successful and the world experience proves this. It is necessary to take first steps and get pleasure of analyzing  your errors.

Finding this pleasure is the most important thing, but you should not be accustomed to this.  However, this fact is that you cannot achieve success without failure. To put simply, the secret of a successful startup consists in many failed steps and sometimes, even in failed startups.

How innovative is your startup? And how company positioned itself on Georgian market?

I would name two components to substantiate innovative character of our startup. First, we do not charge delivery fees thanks to unique mail system, where our expenditures were reduced to zero, in practice. Secondly, we provide lower prices compared to European resources thanks to established partnership with suppliers and storehouses.
