m2 Real Estate company has announced that the first phase of restoration of Mtatsminda Mountain’s burnt hillside in Tbilisi has been finished successfully. The information was unveiled at the meeting with Giga Gigashvili, head of Tbilisi City Hall environment protection service.
In relation to this fact, m2 Real Estate held a greening campaign and planted bushes on the territor. Representatives of the Mtatsminda Park administration and Dio company, as well as students of International University of Georgia took part in the campaign.
As part of the first phase of the project for restoration and reforestation of Mtasminda Mountain’s burnt hillside, which was financed by m2 Real Estate, terraces and footpaths were arranged on 26 000 square meter territory, 3 000 seedlings of 8 varieties of plants were planted and irrigation system was installed. The mentioned works were carried out by National Seedling Farm, which had won the tender. The works were finished successfully. The next stage of the project prepared by specialists of National Botanical Garden calls for caring and supervision of the territory. All these works will be also financed by m2 Real Estate company.
Objective of the project for restoration and reforestation of the Mtatsminda Mountain’s burnt hillside is to create bio diverse and self-renewable environment on the mentioned territory. The mentioned project of m2 Real Estate has obtained the main CSR award of the year.
