“We will react to all violations of safety norms,” Tbilisi Mayor Kakha Kaladze told a government meeting on May 31. At the meeting he discussed the reformation of the surveillance service. City Hall is working on enhancement of the service system and increasing its efficiency, Kakha Kaladze said.
“Amendments were made to the law. Starting March 21, the surveillance service started proceedings on 47 addresses. The service applied penalty sanctions in relation to 13 facilities, and total fines were 390,000 GEL. Fines were imposed on 11 other facilities, and totaled 160,000 GEL. Five fines were imposed for disobeying work suspension orders, which totaled 250,000 GEL in fines. At the same time, 450,000 GEL was imposed against illegal construction works on state-owned lands.
I urge everybody to comply with the law. I address the development sector to ensure safety of employees at specific construction sites,” Kaladze said.
