Medication Exports Considerably Grow

In January-May 2017 exports rose by 28.6% year on year (up 223 million USD) and constituted 1 003 million USD, while imports rose by 10.8% (+287 million USD) and totaled 2 941 million USD.

According to Ministry of Economy, in May 2016 exports rose by 25% (+43 million USD), while imports increased by 3.8% (+22.9 million USD). As a result, in May trade balance improved by 20.1 million USD.

Among major exports items the following categories recorded a major upturn in May: medication (+611%), copper ores and concentrates (+134%), ethyl spirits (+89%) and mineral and spring waters (+25%).

As to imports, grain exports have risen by 289%, electricity (+129%), calculation machines and their blocks (70%), oil and oil products (+13%).

After September 2016, exports annual growth was recorded. The highest indicator was recorded in January 2017 and growth marked 45%. In February 2017, exports rose by 13%, March – up 36.4% and April – 22.9%
