David Saganelidze: Launch of New Pharmaceutical Plant will Half Drug Cost

Executive director of Partnership Fund regards that launch of new pharmaceutical plant will half drug cost. David Saganelidze has declared during the submission of development project of medical clinics by AlphaMedic Consortium.

“The fund has successfully started a project, which envisages medical price reduction. The population has already noticed that drugs are reduced in prices. We consider that prices will be declined at least by 30%, while the new plant will be launched it will half drugs’ costs”,Saganelidze noted.

To remind, the matter concerns to the new joint project of Austrian company Humanity Holding GmbH and the Fund. High technology pharmaceutical plant, in line of international standards, should be built in nearby area of Orkhevi in Tbilisi within the frame of the project.

Total value of the project amounts to 130 million USD. Drug manufacturing pharmaceutical plant with European standards will be equipped with the latest technologies, modern laboratory of quality checking, warehouse spaces and other necessary infrastructure.

The plant will produce at least 800 naming drugs for local consumers as well as for import. However, the company will make import of several amount of drugs, realization of which is planned in Georgia with preferential prices.
