Countries with Major Ratio in Georgia’s Imports of Medications

In 2017, about 12 000 tons of medications were imported to Georgia. Total value of the imports exceeded 354 million USD. This is an unprecedented figure for Georgia, according to Geostat, national statistics service of Georgia.

A major part of medications are imported in a packed form, while a small part is imported in wholesale packing.

Top five countries, from where Georgia has imported packed medications:

1. Turkey – 818 tons
2. Germany – 692 tons
3. Hungary – 295 tons
4. France – 157 tons
5. Ireland- 5 tons

As to imports of unpacked medications, top five countries are as follows:

1. India- 96 tons
2. China – 76 tons
3. USA – 18 tons
4. Spain – 16 tons
5. Latvia – 3 tons
